With a membership of 23,000, Georgia Equality is the states largest LGBT organization. Our work includes efforts to protect vulnerable LGBT youth in schools; enacting policies that guarantee fairness in the workplace; we are leading efforts to eliminate the waiting list for the state's AIDS Drug Assistance Program; and last year alone we provided advocacy training and policy update presentations to 1,880 people throughout the state. As part of our Campaign for a Fair Majority, we have been heavily involved in a number of state and local races. Because of redistricting, it will be especially important that we have adequate funds to defend those legislators who are our allies and elect pro-equality lawmakers in a number of open or competitive districts.
