I have to say that I am partial to Amsterdam. I met my partner there shortly after it first opened.
The club is one of the areas biggest. The main bar is a huge rectangle shape and there are 5 flat screen tv's at both ends and a projector screen facing the front. The outdoor patio is great when the weather is nice outside. It has tables and chairs with a slight view of Midtown.
Each night of the week has a theme and Tuesdays has beer specials along with showtunes. As for the drag shows, they came along after almost 2 years from the date of opening. Those people need extra money for what they do just like any entrepreneur out there.
The patrons of this club are mixed in that you have the regulars and then you have those checking in to see whats happening.
There is a huge dance floor in the back but whether its the music or the people, it is mostly empty. There is also another bar near the dance floor and a game room section off to the side of that. Couple of pool tables and dart boards along with more flat screens that show sports.
The club could be much more than it is. I don't know if its the location or the management that holds it back. Times are rough right now, so the freebies that once flowed freely, IE: private parties, giveaways etc. are no more. That was great advertising and customer service. Hopefully the economy will jump back into overdrive and things will start hopping once again as in the past.

This place is so not worth going to.The drink prices are higher here then any other bar in the city. Parking here is worse then at the Eagle. They have valet service, but watch out. They will steal from your car and the park it in the worst spots too. My friend who took us around had his car broken into. And belive it or not, they still do drag here. How 80s is that?

I've been to the bar before and looked forward to going again for a little dancing and a few drinks. The drinks were great but on a Friday night there was no dancing...just music videos. The crowd was older and the place just seemed tired.

This space is large, open and beautiful. Sammy, bartender, is GREAT. Sunday days are usually busy especially on the patio when the weather is nice. Usually an OK crowd around happy hour but clears out early. Food is good. Hope it continues to grow and prosper because it is a nice place.

Great new change to Atlanta's bar scene. The space is large and clean. The drinks are good and great price. Great music with a large floor. Its a good mix of men 25 45. Definately not full of twinks like the first review said. I would say the perfect bar for 30something guys. Friday after 10 is the best night to go.

If you're tired of the ole sleezey gay bars, then Amsterdam is for you.....Its clean, great drink prices, patio, dance floor, great music, I can' t say enought good things about it. I'm tired of feeling like you have to go to a dirty bar with high drink prices to have fun. AMSTERDAM is the answer for every one, 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's whatever the age

my friends were a little scared before we entered. we though it would be another sweathouse like the eagle or heratic. wrong. it was a beautiful space freshly packed with men i saw nowhere else in HOTLANTA. before we arrived, i had almost given up on that term. THANKS AMSTERDAM! very nice people with lots to look at; both beautiful men and gorgeous ladies. the hotspot in the peach city.

If you like a bar that has a great mix, Amsterdam is the place. Older, younger, men and women...great music and great drinks. Patio is crowded on warmer days. Dance floor never seems to get too crowded, but that could change as the place grows. Wish there was not a cover charge...but you can get there just prior to 9 and not have to pay it.

While Amsterdam is a nice space the bar copies all of the popular activities from other bars. Why can't they think of new themes? Too much attitude from staff. Crowd tends to be tink boys and lesbians. Don't waste the cover charge.
So, what do you say?
