Midtown has many gay hot spots, and Blake's on the Park is still one of them. Blake's originally opened in 1987 at the intersection of 10th Street and Piedmont Road. Since then, Blake's has been one of Midtown's most popular neighborhood gay bars. Recent renovations have improved Blake's and made this "stand and model" zone a more comfortable place to hang out. The drag shows are hysterical, and the crowd couldn't be cuter.
Insider Tip: Don't miss the Drag Races on Monday night, Drag Gone Wild on Tuesday, Divas Live on Thursday, and Bingo on Friday.

Although it had the worst drag queens' show I've ever seen, I had a wonderful time there and made some good new friends.

Not enough room for a drag show. The crowd is young, think they're pretty, and are very snobbish.

With all the hot athletic guys here in Atlanta, I am soo surprised to find so many of them smoking. This city really needs to enter the 21st century like the rest of the civilized cities and tell smokers to go outside!

Blakes is always a must when I am in town. Crowd is nice but can get a bit crowded with the drag show going on. Always hot guys!

On my first visit here, my friend decided that we should meet everyone at the bar, so...around it we went. MOST everyone was friendly and cool. We even dragged a cute boy along with us til his bf came. Oops! It's fun. Check it out.

So since I can't write a review of the whole city, I'll note my experience here. I travel to a lot of cities for work, and my only day off is Monday, so Sunday night is the night for me and my coworkers to go see the gay bars and clubs. WELL, I guess there's some new law in Atlanta and bars have to close Sundays at midnight! At Blake's "last call" was at 11:30PM. At 11:50, a uniformed cop barged into the door, yelling "EVERYBODY OUT!," like we were a bunch of teenagers breaking the law, or worse, a bunch of fags congregating in public... oh wait. THIS ISN'T 1969! Why is the gay community standing for this? Not that I've been, but I wonder if the straight bars all over town get the same treatment. If Atlanta really wants to be the "Gay Capital of the South" as this site suggests, then clearly things need to change. The community needs to stand up and fight for itself... or else these bars, and the whole gay nightlife, will die.

If you're expecting rough and rugged, go somewhere else. But what you get here makes JRs in DC look like the Eagle. This is attitude with a capital A - and they show it, baby. So if you're wanting cheap drinks, hole-in-the-wall atmosphere, trolls, old music, and bad parking - then you better go somewhere else.

Just dropped in early and it was reasonably crowded on a Wednesday night. Bartenders friendly and talkative, made sure to welcome me back when I had to leave quickly. This place is VERY gay, btw. Crowd was more diverse than other reviews indicated and drinks were not measured - thankfully.

I'm a New Yorker and visit ATL often, I always stop by Joe's on Jupiter before turning the party out at Blakes and a couple of other hotspots - everyone has always been nice to me, drinks are good, and it's a great place to mingle. The Drag Queens are hilarious (minus one, but no names) and they're good entertainers. Check it out!

ANNOYING! They were playing intro's to old popular TV shows. I thought at first that it would be fun, but it is rather annoying. I would have rather they played loud random dance music than that!

Don't leave your drinks in a strangers reach or you might end up as someone's toy. Glad I was not alone. The boys had there nose in the air. show me the men.

Went to Blakes on Friday and Saturday night. I'm not a fan of drag, sorry, I don't see why were tipping guys to dress up for halloween, thats a talent? So with that said I kind of enjoyed the drag shows. The drinks are strong, guys are hot, and amazingly people talk to you. Had a great time! I'm from Chicago so gay bars are all over my area and for me to frequent the same place 2 nites in a row rather than bounce bar to bar means its a great place.

I have been out for years but walking into to Blake's I instantly felt like a straight man. Blake's is the kind of place where you ask youself, am I gay enough to be here? Over the top drag queens, pretty people (at least they think they are pretty), and attitude.

one of the better gay bars in ATL, but gets kind of old.

Being new, we stubled into Blakes to a quick bite to eat. The staff (LaTeasha) was extremely friendly and made us feel like we were regulars. We recommend this place if you have the munchies ro for a quick drink.

Blake's used to be a great place to go before the new owners took over and fired all the old bartenders and raised the prices of drinks. The bartenders there are very snobby and it is almost impossible to get a drink. The "improvements" destroyed the place.

I enjoyed my visit to Blakes the summer of 2002 . I went there after having enjoyed brunch at The Flying Biscuit. I found Blakes to be a great neighborhood bar with friendly people . I would recommend it to anyone looking to socialize with other gay guys without the Thumpa , Thumpa of the clubs . A nice stop before heading out for the night .

I simply love this place. Great drinks, food ,music and hot people. The staff is always wonderful and it seems as though I make a new friend everytime I go there. It is the one bar that Atlanta can be very proud of.

This bar was one of the first I went to when coming out during my stay in Atlanta. Its not very flashy more cosmo and fun. At times you get the really really pretentious guys who think that hell is a disco and dont mind making a scene over a little spilled cocktail. The bartenders are very nice and loyal to the rules. No underaged drinking here. Would recommend it if not intentially picking up.

This bar is good for pre dinner drinks or meeting up to go somewhere else. It is full of pretentious 20 year olds that think they are gods gift to gay men. While they appear to be fashionable hip, they can call home and thank mom and dad for the money! lol. Good staff and drag shows. Great drinks. But if your not there to compete for the biggest ego with the smallest waist, then go somewhere else. Maybe the oldest, but not the best anymore.

I have no complaints. I have been several times as well. Lots of folks talk about this place being 'the place to go' , I just think if it is the place to go then Atlanta needs to get out more often. boring younger people who think they look good rule this nest. Just my opinion though.
-oh yeah the drinks are fine though.

I always manage to get my boots knocked, which is what I want. Blakes is full of horny young hard bodied twinks willing to toss their legs up to help a visitor. Thanks guys!

I agree with the comments of Blake's being a stand and model bar. It is OK if you take your friends with you, but tough to meet others if you are alone.

This bar is busy every night. They have great videos and music and cute boy's everywhere. I'm in love with the bartender DOUG

If you are over 40 this is not the bar to go to. The crowds is nothing but twinkies and attitude. I have never felt so old and out of place as I did at this bar. The sad part is, I'm actually a very nice looking man of 45 with a great body. However, I have no hair or front teeth, so that may have something to do with it....

This bar hands down has the hottest AND nicest staff. This bar is for everyone. As a college student, my friends and I can meet up and have a few drinks and great time. This bar is for all ages and everyone seems to get along.

Blakes is one of the best things about living in Midtown. It's a "regular" bar (not a club or a restaurant" with "regular" guys (of the oh-so-hot-All-American-Atlanta-boy variety). Very social and fun after work on well into the evening.
So, what do you say?
